Dirks-Glaser in Germany has manufactured many versions of
their popular DG-600, which now has been superseded by the DG-800 on the production line.
But still many pilots fly the DG-600 and the actual tendency is to refurbish them with
winglets to improve the overall performance. We at ICARE are very proud to offer here a
(~1:5.5) semi-scale reproduction of one of the cutest glider.
You can fly this kit with both wingspan (2.6 m and
3.2 m).
The kit includes the winglets for the standard class version and the extension tips for
the open class high aspect ratio wings. This mid sized model is an interesting subject to
introduce yourself to scale gliders. It comes out pretty light, which leads to very safe
handling. The S3021 gives him very forgiving flying characteristics. It can be ballasted
and it becomes a rocker on the slope. Also easy to hi-start, it likes it behind a tow
plane for thermal duration flying. It is easy to do tight circles without tip stalling
out. On the slope, after removing the winglets, it will allow you to perform most known
aerobatics manoeuvres. This version of the DG-600 is very accurate to scale.
This is not a kit, the model comes completely built, and
ready for radio installation. Only a few hours are required, before you go to the field.
The wings are fully moulded, with carbon reinforcement and high gloss surface
finish. The winglets and wing tips are hollow moulded Fiberglas. The high gloss, gelcoated Fiberglas fuselage has the wing joiner carrying tubes and control linkage
installed. The canopy is already glued to a canopy tray. Tail surfaces are
also hollow moulded and are finished. A small hardware package and building
instructions are completing the kit.
Radio requirements are two micro servos for the ailerons,
two regular servos for the elevator, rudder. An additional servo might be installed for
aerotow.
