The Polish SZD-55 is a modern
high-performance Standard Class sailplane designed for the serious competition
pilot. Its good handling characteristics make it a popular choice for skilled
pilots and for use as a club sailplane. With an aspect ratio of 23.4 and a L/D of 44, it performs
well in a wide range of soaring conditions, constantly placing at the top in
international soaring competitions. The SZD
glider company produced also the famous Mucha and Foka gliders.
You probably have here the smallest flying semi-scale
all moulded glider on the market.
It took of 2 years to the designer to refine the plane so it has great flying
characteristics and is good looking.
All what we can say that he achieved his goal.
This little glider is amazing flies like a larger ship on the slope, tracks like
hell, very versatile, a incomparable joy. The control is by wingeron and
rudder, so it almost a full house ship.
The kit comes completely finished. The wings are fibreglass molded. The clear plastic canopy needs to be fitted to the
fibreglass fuselage and so allows you to access the radio gear. A wing joiner system
needs to be
installed in the fuselage. A complete hardware package completes the kit. All what's required is your radio gear. You will need
3 sub-micro servos and small 4CH Rx.
